But, what about the security of that connection. Is it really secure and why do computers get infected with malware? Isn’t that modem thing my internet provider gave me supposed to keep malware stuff out of my computer.

I get this question a lot, and it is not just one thing that will keep the computer safe, but it is a combination of best practices, a good firewall, and AV software.

If I copy my files to a thumb drive isn’t that good enough. I hear this a lot and the answer is a yes and no.
