Windows 10: The End Has Come!? Well Kinda…
Before you know it—Microsoft support for Windows 10 will be over. Be sure to be prepared!
Hackers are targeting small business–News Flash? No kidding!
When I bring a new customer on, I explain that disaster recovery is like an insurance policy, and if you do it right you can recover 99% of the time. Wait…why do you say 99% of the time why not 100?
Well, it’s like this. Large Customers have computer Domains, and there are time limits on what they call Active Directory Objects. The time limit is 90 days, and this limit is imposed by Microsoft. What that means to a backup vendor like me is you can not restore an object older than 90 days, and why is that important.

What is your billing rate per hour?
Are you an expert in the issue you are trying to solve?
If my customer had called me first, I would have saved them a lot time, and remember—time is money. Just because you think you are taking care of an internal issue does not mean there is no cost. I have a couple examples of actual issues from my customers.
Hackers Want to Be Your Valentine
It’s not just China that is doing the scanning, there are other countries involved as well, and they are not just targeting my IP address, but whole blocks of IP addresses. Individuals are very busy looking for vulnerabilities and open ports. Just a quick search through the web shows this is an issue.
I Backup in the Cloud, and I am Not Interested – OK, So Read On
What you have in the Cloud is another copy of your data, which is good, but Microsoft is not backing up your data. What happens to all the data if a hacker got into Microsoft and was able to delete the data held and synced by OneDrive? Because OneDrive, is a bidirectional synch, I believe that data would be gone off OneDrive, and off your PC!
